At age eight, Carol began her love ceramics when her legs were long enough to throw lumpy pots on a basic kick wheel.  She has played with clay ever since.

She now works in a roomy studio at the Tannery Arts Center in Santa Cruz, California, constructing hand-built ceramic vessels and sculpture. She uses a slabroller and various handbuilding tools  and methods, then finishes her pieces in a high-fire gas kiln.

She often carries a sketchbook to capture what she sees and experiences, both locally and on trips. In recent years, she has traveled to Paris, Amsterdam, Vienna, Prague, London and Morocco. Prints of her sketches are available at her studio.
